  15.  I'm working on VAXes using VMS 5.4-2 and use the VAX C Compiler 
  16. version  V3.0-031 and AXP2100 using OpenVMS v.6 and DecC 4.0
  17.  
  18.  When I try to run kermit in a submitted job, it simply fails. 
  19. The message I get in the log is :
  20.         %CKERMIT-E-FATAL, Can't initialize!
  21.  
  22.  I have borrowed another VMS version that works. So I suspect
  23. a compilation problem. I did recompiled the code. No effect.
  24.  
  25. Is there anyone who could give me a clue ?
